Music therapist
Maya, a Chicago music therapist, inherits a secret handwritten score from her late piano tutor Eleanor. Hidden in decorative notes lies a cryptic message: Eleanor's composer husband David did not die in an accidental car crash. Maya digs through old records, interviews David's friends and a retired lawyer, and uncovers his unfinished musical exposé. David wove fragments of fellow musicians' works into scores to expose unfair copyright schemes exploited by a record label. Though his manuscript stays archived, Maya deciphers his silent evidence via music, honoring Eleanor's decades-long wait for someone who can listen to the truth hidden in tunes.
